
Police have found carcasses in Ambala and Kurukshetra during the past few days and have sent the samples collected from the decomposed bodies to laboratory for ascertaining the species of the animals.
On Sunday night, sleuths of Panjokhra police station (Ambala district) found nearly 7 quintals of meat lying covered under a “tirpal” (canvas).
Panjokhra police station SHO Vikrant said the meat was found on an unmetalled road which was nearly half km from
the Punjab border. “We have sent the samples to a laboratory in Yamunanagar district to ascertain the species of the animal,” he said.
On a complaint filed by Bajrang Dal, police have lodged a daily dairy report (DDR) in this regard.
Nearly a week ago, police also found seven decapitated heads of animals and two gunnysacks full of organs of animals in Narwana branch canal in Kurukshetra district.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Kurukshetra SP Surinder Singh Bhoria said: “These were decomposed bodies and it was difficult to ascertain the species of these animals. These were noticed in the canal. Their samples have been collected for further examination. We will take the next action once we receive a report from the laboratory.” As of now, police have initiated a probe.
