Ghaziabad: A 50-year-old dairy farm owner was shot dead, while his 24-year-old son suffered grievous injuries when a group of men sprayed them with bullets on Thursday in Modinagar. Three people — Ashu, Amit, and Ankit — have been arrested, and a case has been registered against six persons, including the victim’s neighbour, Beer Singh Gujjar.
Ram Kumar and his son Saurabh were headed home to Kalchhina village from their dairy in Krishna Nagar on their bike when the accused surrounded the two and opened fire near a railway crossing in Sikri.Kumar received four bullet wounds, while Saurabh received one near the shoulder.
Saurabh filed a complaint at Modinagar police station.
“When we reached the Sikri railway crossing, Beer Singh and his associates — Rajendra, Rahul, Amit, Ankit, and Ashu — who were already there, surrounded us and started firing. My father was driving the bike, and I ran towards a nearby farm,” he said.
DCP (Rural) Vivek Yadav said, “One year ago, a few people were sent to jail after a conflict between the two and a fight between two groups. The arrested accused said that the group opened fire due to the old rivalry.”
