The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets India’s popular dairy brand Amul, on Wednesday announced a price hike of Rs 2 per litre across all its milk variants. The revised prices will come into effect from Thursday, May 1, 2025.
This comes after Mother Dairy, which on Tuesday had announced a price hike of Rs 2 per litre, effective April 30.
As per Amul, this hike represents a 3–4 per cent increase in Maximum Retail Price (MRP), which the federation said remains lower than the current average food inflation.
In Gujarat, following the revision, a 500ml pouch of Amul Gold will now be priced at Rs 34, while the Amul Shakti (Standard) 500ml pouch will cost Rs 31.
