New Delhi: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of a teenager in Bhalswa Dairy. Police reported that an argument between the accused and the victim’s brother, perhaps over a girl they both knew, escalated to the alleged murder last Sept.
The accused was identified as Rishi, also a resident of Bhalswa Dairy. The victim, identified as Himanshu, was studying in Class XII.
Himanshu’s father had filed a complaint that at 2pm on Sept 30, three boys arrived in front of his house and began yelling insults and fighting with his other son, Hemu. “They threatened him, saying the girl he was talking to was the girlfriend of one of them and he should stay away from her or they would kill him,” the complainant reported.
Later, around 8pm, both Hemu and Himanshu left home, saying they were going to the market. Around 11.15pm, the family got the news about Himanshu’s murder. He was stabbed around eight times. It was revealed that there was a scuffle between the groups in which Himanshu was stabbed. tnn
