

Indore: Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation (MPCDF) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to exchange technical expertise and support to bolster quality improvement measures and enhance utilised capacities of milk plants.
The partnership with NDDB is also seen helping the state dairy federation in the revival of Gwalior and Jabalpur milk unions.

MPCDF managing director Dr Satish Kumar said, “We have signed an MoU with NDDB. The objective of the partnership is to enrich the expertise of NDDB. The expertise and guidance of the board will help in strengthening and upgrading the dairy sector”.
NDDB will also extend support in enhancing the under-utilized capacity of ice cream plant and cookies plant at Indore and cattle feed plants at Bandol, Sagar and Shivpuri.
As part of the MoU, the board will suggest the dairy federation in MP, measures for quality improvement at various stages of milk collection and transportation.
“Technical expertise of NDDB will help in processing optimal utilization of existing infrastructure, plant technology up-gradation and end-to-end digitization of the dairy sector,” said Kumar.
NDDB will also provide guidance and support in formulating draft guidelines and implementation of proposed milk incentive scheme for cooperative milk producers of MP.
Both the parties will work on implementation of Madhya Pradesh Sankalp Patra, 2023. As part of the Sankalp Patra, “Dairy cooperative societies and collection centres will be set up in every gram panchayat to ensure milk procurement for helping dairy farmers get the right price for their milk and under the White Revolution Mission with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore, the number of milk coolers, mini dairy plants and chilling centres will be increased along with Sanchi Dairy in every district. Also, processing capacity of all milk unions will also be expanded”.
