Ludhiana: A dairy owner was shot at allegedly by his former business partner, who, along with his accomplices, also vandalised his shop in Dugri’s Phase 1, police said on Sunday.
However, Gopal Mahajan didn’t receive any bullet injury. As per his complaint filed at the Dugri police station, Mahajan was present at his shop when a group of men arrived around 9.30 pm and started abusing him.“They then started vandalising my shop. When I tried to stop them, they assaulted me too,” he added.
“As I tried to fight back, my former business partner opened fire, but the bullet missed the target,” Mahajan told the police.
Dugri station house officer (SHO) Avneet Kaur said they have found one bullet shell at the spot.
“CCTV cameras have captured the incident. Preliminary probe suggests that the victim and the accused started the dairy business about four years ago. They had split about 1.5 years back after which they nurtured rivalry against each other,” she said.
“The police are recording the statement of the victim to register a case. Meanwhile, we have taken the footage of CCTV camera in possession and are trying to track the accused,” the SHO added.
