Dairygold has announced an increase in its quoted milk price for June by 0.5 cents per liter, bringing it to 42.5 cents per liter. This adjustment reflects the standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat and includes sustainability and quality bonuses as well as VAT.
For comparisons using EU standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the quoted price for June stands at 46.4 cents per liter, inclusive of VAT.
In the previous month, Dairygold’s quoted milk price was set at 42 cents per liter, calculated with the same constituents and including both VAT and additional bonuses.
A spokesperson for Dairygold highlighted on Wednesday, July 17, the cooperative’s commitment to bolstering milk supplier confidence. This strategy is aimed at encouraging suppliers to maximize milk production in the latter half of the year. The spokesperson also noted a slight improvement in dairy market returns in May and June, primarily due to rising butter prices. However, they cautioned that uncertainties persist in the market, particularly due to subdued demand and stagnant global milk supply, with China’s market posing specific concerns.
