In 2023, the total volume of member milk supplied to FrieslandCampina witnessed a 1.4 percent decrease compared to the previous year, declining from 9,502 million kilograms to 9,369 million kilograms. This reduction can be attributed to a decrease in the number of member dairy farms, declining from 9,927 to 9,417, Dairynews.today writes.
Due to the disappointing financial results, FrieslandCampina announced that there will be no supplementary cash payment for the year 2023. These developments reflect the economic challenges and fluctuations in the dairy industry that impact both the volume of supplied milk and the financial returns for member dairy farmers.
