Jaipur: In a surprise inspection of 21 milk and paneer shops in Shastri Nagar’s doodh mandi on Thursday, food safety officers found adulterated ghee being sold at the market. In addition to five samples of ghee, some samples of mawa and cheese were also found to be suspicious.. A team of food safety officers collected 47 samples of paneer, mawa and ghee and tested them on the spot in mobile lab.
Nine samples of suspicious ghee, mawa and cheese were taken for tests. The team seized 20kg ghee at Balaji Paneer House after its ghee sample failed the quality test. Improvement notice has been given under the Food Safety Act after deficiencies were found in RK Dairy and Deepak Dairy.
Chief medical and health officer, Jaipur (I), Dr Ravi Shekhawat said that samples of ghee and cheese from Deepak Dairy, sample of ghee from Balaji Dairy, paneer and mawa samples from Dhabhai Paneer Industry were taken.
