Ponda: Govt has assured Goa Dairy workers that their dues under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS) and two dearness allowance (DA) instalments (July 2022 and Jan 2023) will be released before Diwali.
The decision was taken at a meeting on Wednesday chaired by cooperation minister Subhash Shirodkar, benefiting over 100 workers.

The MACPS is granted only to staff ineligible for promotions. They will get the benefit with arrears from 2018. The workers will receive arrears in eight instalments, retirees in three, and the families of deceased workers in a single instalment, Gaonkar said.
Gaonkar said that Shirodkar has informed them that the decision on payment of DA for July 2023 and Jan 2024 will be taken in the next meeting.
The meeting was attended by All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) leader Christopher Fonseca, advocate Suhas Naik, and dairy employee Surendra Velip among others.
