Kolkata: Heritage Foods Ltd, a dairy company founded by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu over three decades ago, is expanding into the Bengal market. The company, which offers various milk and milk-based products, is set to have about 20,000 retail outlets across the state by the year-end.
Chief executive officer Srideep N Kesavan told TOI: “In Bengal, the consumption of milk, ghee, curd, ice cream, lassi and other dairy products is on the rise and this has prompted us to foray first into the Kolkata market, from where we will expand our footprint to other parts of the state.We have already roped in 10-12 distributors in Kolkata and we have an ambitious plan to shell out some whopping crores to open 20,000 retail outlets in Bengal.”
The company currently has a presence in 16 states, including Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and UP. Its annual turnover stood at around Rs 3,208 crore in FY 2022-23. The company’s mission is to have a revenue of Rs 6,000 crore.
Congruent with the strategy of developing into a pan-India dairy player, Heritage Foods would now introduce different products through trade partners, said Kesavan.
