
The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), a leading B-School situated in the historic city of Hyderabad, joyously organized ‘Convocation 2024’ on Friday, 14 December 2024, with a spirit of academic excellence and enthusiasm. Distinguished personalities including Dr Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, GCMMF Ltd. (Amul); K Madhava Rao, IAS (Retd), President of the Board of Governors (BoG) at IPE and former Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh & Election Commissioner; Mrs Mahapara Ali, former CGM (L&D) Corporate Centre, State Bank of India; Prof S Sreenivasa Murthy, Director, IPE; Prof V Srikanth, Dean (Academics); Prof Ch Lakshmi Kumari, Dean (Research), and Prof M L N Rao, CoE, IPE, graced the occasion.
Alongside the distinguished personalities, the convocation witnessed the presence of luminaries from academia, industry, and government, faculty, staff, alumni, students, parents, and representatives from the media and press.
Prof S Sreenivasa Murthy, Director of IPE, highlighted the institution’s commitment to diverse pedagogy and innovative teaching methods. He announced scholarships totaling ₹1.36 crores and a 90% placement rate, reflecting the institution’s dedication to student success.
K Madhava Rao, President of the Board of Governors (BoG) at IPE, inaugurated Convocation 2024. He urged graduates to overcome poverty at heart by fostering compassion and building a more equitable society. He also encouraged students to strengthen IPE by sharing their valuable experiences.
In his speech, Dr. Mehta shared the remarkable journey of Amul, highlighting its success in revolutionizing India’s dairy sector. He emphasized that milk production is now the top agricultural sector in India, and cooperatives like Amul empower lower sections of society, playing a crucial role in India’s aspiration to become the third-largest economy. Dr. Mehta outlined Amul’s vision to become the “Dairy of the World,” emphasizing the importance of the 4Ps – Process, Proficiency, Potential, and Principles – in achieving success. He stressed the crucial role of integrity in building a successful career and encouraged graduates to strive for personal, financial, and spiritual fitness.
Convocation 2024 witnessed the graduation of 442 students from IPE. D. Sai Venkata Sastry, the topper of the PGDM class of 2024, was honored with the Ujjawal Muddana Memorial Gold Medal. The festivities concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof M L N Rao, the Controller of Examinations at IPE. Convocation 2024 was marked by numerous emotional and lively moments as friends, classmates, and families shared expressions of joy and pride.
