The Pune city police have announced traffic diversions for Tuesday and Wednesday when the ‘Maratha Aarakshan Morcha’, the rally for Maratha reservation led by Manoj Jarange-Patill, will traverse through Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad areas.
On January 20, Jarange-Patil started the rally from Antarwali Sarati in the Jalna district of Maharashtra to Mumbai, demanding Maratha reservation. The rally is slated to reach Pune city from Ranjangaon and has a scheduled halt at Kharadi.
Traffic changes in force on Tuesday
Traffic coming from Pune Mumbai Expressway and also from Satara and Kolhapur and going towards Ahmednagar will be diverted via: Katraj, Khadi Machine Chowk, Mantarwadi Phata, Hadapsar, Solapur Road, Kedgaon Chaufula, Nhavare and Shirur.
Traffic going from Pune City to Ahmednagar will be diverted via: Magarpatta Chowk, Yavat via Solapur Road, Kedgaon Chaufula, Nhavare and Shirur.
After a halt at Kharadi, the rally will move to Pimpri-Chinchwad via Pune city. Traffic changes for this stretch are as follows:
Vehicles from Ahmednagar to Pune City will be diverted via Theur Phata, Kesnand and Solapur Road. Vehicles in the Wagholi area and coming to Pune will be diverted via Awhalwadi, Manjari Khurd, Keshavnagar and Mundhwa.
Vehicles from Pune City to Ahmednagar will be diverted via Chandrama Chowk, Alandi Road, Vishrantwadi, Dhanori, Lohegaon and Wagholi.
After entering the Pimpri-Chinchwad jurisdiction, the rally will take the route via Rajiv Gandhi Bridge, Jagtap Dairy, Dange Chowk, Birla Hospital Chaphekar Chowk, Ahimsa Chowk, Mahavir Chowk, Bhakti Shakti, Dehu Road and Talegaon and then en route to Mumbai.
The following traffic changes will be in force from Wednesday morning:
In the Sangvi area, vehicles cannot go from Aundh D Mart to Sangvi Phata. These vehicles will be diverted via Pol Chowk and Nagras Road. Vehicles from Pimple Nilakh to Rakshak Chowk will be diverted via Vishal Nagar DP Road, Jagtap Chowk and Kaspate Chowk.
In the Wakad area, the traffic from Tathawade Chowk to Dange Chowk will be diverted right from Tathawade Chowk and then via Tathawade underpass and Hanging Bridge. Traffic from Kalakhadak to Dange Chowk will be diverted by U-turn at Kalakhadak and Bhumkar Chowk. Traffic from Wakad Dattamandir Chowk to Annabhau Sathe Chowk will be diverted either on left or right turn.
In the Chinchwad area, vehicles from Dalvi Nagar Chowk to Khandoba Mal and Chinchwad station will be diverted via Bijlinagar. Vehicles from River View Chowk to Dange Chowk and Dange Chowk to Mahavir Chowk will be diverted via Chinchwad Farm, Walhekarwadi and Ravet. Vehicles going to Bhosari will be diverted via Bijlinagar and Walhekarwadi.
In the Pimpri area, traffic from KSB Chowk to Mahavir Chowk and Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk will be diverted via Basaweshwar Chowk and Auto Cluster.
In the Nigdi area, traffic from Dalvinagar Bridge and Akurdi Gaothan will be diverted via Ganesh Vision. Traffic from Durga Chowk to Tilak Chowk will be diverted via Thermax Chowk and Yamun Nagar. Traffic from Bhel Chowk to Tilak Chowk will be diverted via Savali Hotel.
