Chennai: The war of words between state dairy development minister T Mano Thangaraj and BJP state president K Annamalai continued on Sunday as the latter alleged that milk procurement by Aavin has declined this year compared to the previous year.
After Annamalai levelled a series of allegations against Mano Thangaraj and Aavin, the minister responded with a tweet saying that they are “presently procuring an impressive average of 30 lakh litres of milk daily.”
In response, Annamalai said that he was “amused” after the minister called ‘the drop in milk procurement’ an achievement.“In September 2022, the average milk procurement per day was 35.97 lakh litres. This September, the average milk procurement per day was 29.49 lakh litres. What’s impressive about this?” he asked. He said the minister had “single-handedly caused a loss of revenue for our farmers and has helped pave the way for the entry of other private players.”

Cow milk vs buffalo milk: Which one is a better source of nutrition?
Indian cuisine heavily relies on milk, obtained from cows and buffalo, which holds immense religious significance. Cow milk, with its lower fat content, is easier to digest and preferred by those seeking a protein-rich diet. On the other hand, buffalo milk, with higher fat content, offers a creamier and richer taste. Both types of milk have unique nutritional benefits, and the choice depends on personal preferences, dietary needs, and regional availability.
