NEW DELHI: A fire broke out at a dairy products shop in Thane, Maharashtra, during the early hours of Tuesday, according to officials. No casualties were reported, though the shop was entirely gutted.
The blaze erupted at approximately 1:41 am at the establishment, located near a school on Sabegaon Road in the Diva area, and rapidly spread throughout the premises, confirmed Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Thane Municipal Corporation‘s disaster management cell.
Upon receiving the alert, fire department personnel, the regional disaster management cell team, power supply company officials, and police responded promptly to the scene.
Firefighters successfully brought the fire under control by 2:53 am, with cooling operations continuing until 3:40 am to prevent any potential reignition.
The shop, along with its equipment, including three refrigerators, was completely destroyed in the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
