Tirlán has officially announced an increase in its milk price for May supplies by 0.5 cents per liter, setting the new rate at 42.08 cents per liter, inclusive of VAT, for creamery milk with 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.
The processor reported that the average price paid for May creamery milk, adjusted for delivered constituents, amounted to 45.37 cents per liter, including VAT.
John Murphy, Tirlán chair, commented on the market conditions: “There has been a welcome increase in returns for some dairy products in the past month, particularly butter and cheese, driven by reduced milk supply volumes in certain regions. However, the impact of higher prices on consumer demand in the coming months remains uncertain.”
Murphy added, “The board will continue to monitor the dairy market on a monthly basis to respond appropriately to any shifts.”
