TIRUPATI: Bharata chaitanya yuvajana (BCY) chief Bode Ramachandra Yadav promised to donate 1000 desi cows to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and urged the Tirupati trust to explore the option of establishing it’s own dairy unit to become self reliant with regards to its dairy needs.
Addressing a press conference after winding up his Tirumala Parirakshana padayatra and completing the darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy on Tuesday, Ramachandra Yadav stated that the issue of the sacred Tirupati laddu prasadams adulterated with animal fats during the erstwhile YSRCP regime had caused extreme heartburn among millions of devotees across the globe.
He urged the state govt to conduct a thorough investigation into the case and severely punish those linked to the ghee adulteration episode.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is the richest Hindu temple trust in the world, and if this trust had its own dairy unit and was not dependent on outside dairy sources to procure milk and ghee, the case of laddu adulteration would never have arisen in the first place.
“If the TTD agrees to the proposal of establishing its own dairy unit, I will donate 1,000 desi cows from my personal funds. Apart from that, I will also take upon the responsibility of getting 1 lakh desi cows as a donation for the TTD. With 1 lakh cows at its dairy farm, TTD can produce 10 lakh liters of milk, 50,000 kilos of butter, or 30 tons of ghee. This way, the TTD can become self-reliant and will not have to depend on outside dairy farms for ghee procurement,” Ramachandra Yadav asserted.
The BCY chief urged the state government to initiate stringent measures in terms of streamlining the administrative and spiritual affairs at the TTD by constituting a full-fledged trust board soon.
