
Ludhiana: In a bid to make the ongoing kar seva to clean Buddha Dariya, authorities have started getting strict with defaulters. The kar seva is being conducted under the leadership of Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal. Two cases were registered at Jamalpur police station and division number 7 against 10 dairy operators dumping animal dung into the drain. The cases were registered on the complaint of the MC and the mining department.
On the complaint of mining department SDO, Prince Singh, Jamalpur police lodged an FIR against Naresh Prakar Tony, Ravi Kant of Bhukhari Khurd village, Darshan Singh of Khasi Kalan village, Babul Dairy, Raju Hardev Singh and Pawan Kumar of Tajpur village. On the complaint of the MC SDO, division number 7 police lodged a case against operators of Lovely dairy, Jaspal dairy, Ramesh dairy and Sheela dairy in Tajpur Dairy Complex.
The issue of negligence by officials in reining in defaulters was raised during a meeting held recently under the leadership of cabinet minister Dr Ravjot Singh. The Vidhan Sabha Committee also took serious note of the shortcomings at the administrative level.
